The J. F. Ahern Co. Management Committee is pleased to announce that two key Fire Protection business unit leaders have been promoted to Vice President status.

Special Hazards Department Manager Doug Lackey has earned the title of Vice President of the Special Hazards Department. Lackey oversees all departmental sales, design, and operations relating to customized, non-water based fire suppression systems. He has been involved in the industry since 1987, and has experience in design, sales, management, and project oversight, at both the manufacturing and construction level. Lackey holds many industry certifications, including a State of Wisconsin Automatic Fire Sprinkler Contractor License and an Associates Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. He joined Ahern in 2004.

John Schotz, Manager of Ahern Fire Protection's St. Louis, Missouri District, was promoted to Vice President of the District. Schotz has been with Ahern for 13 years, starting his career as a System Designer, and later as Design Manager, Service Manager, and District Manager. He holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. As Vice President of Ahern Fire Protection's St. Louis District, Schotz manages and leads the entire St. Louis office team to achieve financial goals and exceed customer expectations.

"Doug and John both exemplify the Ahern mission every day," said Al Fox, Executive Vice President of Ahern Fire Protection. "They possess a unique and valuable mix of technical expertise and superb communication skills. Thanks to their commitment, both the Special Hazards Department and the St. Louis District are growing beyond expectations."
