Ahern's Building Expansion Receives LEED Gold Certification
Ahern recently received word from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) that the Company's headquarters building expansion has officially achieved LEED Gold certification. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the USGBC's leading rating system for designing and constructing the world's greenest, most energy efficient, and high performing buildings.
The 54,000 square-foot expansion was completed in 2007, and incorporates a variety of sustainable building materials and techniques. Many of the mechanical system features, including a greenwater reclamation system and radiant in-floor heat, are used to showcase Ahern’s services to industry associations, customers, and potential customers.
