Pipe Fabrication Services for Power Plants in the Madison Area

Ahern delivered nearly 1,100 prefabricated pipe spools in approximately 2 months to meet a tight installation schedule at Alliant Energy’s Pardeeville, Wisconsin power plant. Working with Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Ahern met this goal, in addition to stringent weld tolerances. At the peak of the project, Ahern’s pipe fabrication shop was completing between 50 and 70 spools per day. This included welding, sandblasting, painting, quality assurance, stenciling, and flange face engraving. A mix of 2-1/2” to 24” carbon and stainless steel piping was provided, all of which passed examination by Ahern’s QA/QC team and Babcock & Wilcox inspectors.
