The Marshfield Door Systems project was exceptionally unique to Ahern because it contained the largest suppression system that the company has installed to date. The 200,000 square-foot facility, located in Marshfield, Wisconsin, required a suppression system consisting of 16 explosion suppression bottles and 8 pressure detectors to protect a product bin that contained dry wood used in the manufacturing of solid wood doors. The existing bin had a history of dust explosions in the past and Ahern’s installation addressed previous issues, which resulted in a safer working environment. Ahern met the deadline using labor coordination, tool delivery, and 24 prefabricated pipe spools.
