WE Energies Control Room

On-time &within budget

Building Controls & Commissioning Services for Power Plants in the Milwaukee Area

Ahern completed its work on time at the 4,364 square foot WE Energies power plant in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Ahern's job was to replace controls on two Roof Top Units (RTUs) in the power plant's main control room. The systems included redundant RTUs and isolation dampers, and associated terminal equipment, as well as automatic changeover logic and hardwire interlocks to ensure that the system is fully redundant and does not rely on network communications for operation. The operation of the units had to be maintained throughout the process to ensure that the required cooling was available for both the data room and the main operation stations.

To make sure the project deadline was met, the control panel was completed ahead of time so it just needed to be hung up once it was onsite. In addition, all of the programming that could be done ahead of time was completed prior to the panel arriving on site.
