West Campus Cogen Facility (WCCF)

Ahern’s extensive knowledge in power plants and complex process projects aided achieving a successful and on-time start up for the West Campus Cogen Facility. Ahern served as the prime contractor for this new combined cycle power plant for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This was an extremely large and complex project, where Ahern’s expertise in 3D BIM modeling and early collaboration with the owner allowed for an on-time completion.

• Ahern increased its manpower (peaked at 100) to complete the project on-time.

• Ahern’s finished its work nearly 2.5% under the original budget.

• Ahern assigned nine full-time field office staff to this project to ensure the project ran smoothly.

• All work was completed with zero warranty rework.
