Project GRILL 2015 Unveiling

JF Ahern Project

Again this year, Ahern took part in Project GRILL, a program started by the Fond du Lac Association of Commerce. Project GRILL pairs local manufacturers with area high school tech ed students in a yearlong project to design and build a working charcoal grill from scratch. The program was started in 2008 to expose high school students to careers in manufacturing that are creative, challenging, and rewarding. This year, Ahern was partnered with students from Winnebago Lutheran Academy (WLA).

On Friday, May 15, the students showcased their grill to the public, along with other participating schools in an unveiling presentation. The final product created by the students was three grills — an Ahern grill, a Packers grill, and a WLA grill. After the unveiling, everyone got to kick back, relax, and enjoy some hamburgers and hot dogs.
