Ahern’s installation of a wet and foam system in this 22,000 square-foot aircraft facility in Omaha, NE now has the building up to code. The prefabricated fire system was delivered on time, keeping the installation of the 734 sprinkler heads on track for meeting the customer’s deadline. Walmart Neighborhood Market - Omaha
Completing our work one month ahead of schedule was possible thanks to our team’s close attention to detail. From design elements to scheduling deliveries and project team selection, Ahern’s impressive performance on the Omaha Walmart Neighborhood Market (Store 4138) all came down to planning, leadership, and follow-through. Our team minimized rework of both our own fire protection installations, as well as that of the other construction partners. This included storing materials off the floor and using non-marking tires on equipment lifts to protect the concrete.
Hampton Inn - Omaha
Guests of the Hampton Inn in Omaha, NE, can rest easy knowing they’re protected by a sprinkler system! Ahern installed a fire sprinkler system and standpipe system in the 4-story, 63,325 square-foot wood framed hotel. Regular job site visits by Ahern’s Superintendent and Project Manager ensured that all deadlines were being met and the schedule was progressing as expected.
Verizon West Omaha MCS Building Expansion
Ahern's vast knowledge of fire protection ensured that the expansion on the Verizon West Omaha MCS Building was a success. Ahern's job was to extend an existing pre-action system to a new addition. The team started the project with approved designs on the first submission and completed the 2,000 square foot facility on time and without injury.

Commercial Fire Protection for Store in Omaha, Nebraska
Ahern’s crew worked diligently to install a fire protection system in this 16,821 square-foot addition in Omaha, NE. The installation was performed in the existing portion of the store, so the crew was sensitive to noise levels while customers shop.

With the project team averaging 8 years of experience, Ahern was able to meet the deadline for the Boxcar 10 project in Omaha, Nebraska. This multi-story, mixed use development property was designed to complement the artistic vibe in the neighborhood. The building offers both residential condominiums and retail space. Building Retrofitting for Omaha, Nebraska Retail Stores
Ahern completed a retrofit for buybuyBABY and Cost Plus World Market, two retail stores located in Omaha, Nebraska. Ahern's job was to renovate the current wet system to accommodate new finishes for an existing building. The dedicated work of Ahern's employees allowed the project to be completed one full month ahead of schedule with zero issues and no OSHA recordable events.
Fire Protection for Health Care Facility in Omaha, Nebraska
Ahern installed a wet pipe sprinkler system in the 22,483 square-foot Children’s Respite healthcare facility in Omaha, NE. Originally, the architect didn’t approve of an area of exposed pipe that was indicated in the shop drawing submittals. Ahern’s team worked with the general contractor to come up with a solution to conceal the pipe above the curved drywall ceiling and the resolution pleased the client. Ahern met all the general contractor’s schedule dates to meet the final occupancy date.
Fire Protection for Pharmacy in Omaha, Nebraska
Energy Systems Company
Ahern performed retrofit fire protection work on this Omaha, Nebraska project. The field crew replaced 350 sprinkler heads with new EDFR heads, demolished the preexisting fire pump and replaced it with a new backflow and wet riser. Despite working through some challenging warehouse racking, Ahern’s team was able to complete this project without any rework.
With a team experienced in performing fluid delivery calculations, Ahern was able to ensure the code-required 50-second fire protection delivery would be met while utilizing a single dry valve. Our design, prefabrication, and installations for this four-story, 57,000 square-foot self-storage facility in Omaha, Nebraska were completed on time and with zero change orders.
Skinner Baking Office
The 10,000 square-foot, Skinner Baking office expansion in Omaha, NE called for Ahern’s fire protection expertise to install a wet pipe sprinkler system, and a fire alarm. The design/build project was approved on the first submission and completed on-time according to the customer’s schedule. What’s more, the project was finished within the estimated budget and no injuries occurred while working on-the-job.
University of Nebraska-Omaha Performing Arts Center
What may have been a normal sprinkler installation for Ahern’s Omaha office, turned out far from ordinary. Based on a 10-year relationship with the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), Ahern was awarded the 50,800 square-foot retrofit project in the Strauss Performing Arts Building on campus. The existing building hosts band practices and performances for both the university and the city of Omaha.
Nebraska Realty Office Building
Ahern installed a total of 261 sprinkler heads at the Nebraska Realty Office in Omaha, NE (formerly DEEB Realty). The four-story 47,000 square foot office facility was completed on time with no setbacks or injuries thanks to the knowledge and expertise of Ahern's fire protection installation team.
With Ahern’s field team averaging 8 years of experience, Ahern was able to complete its work on time at QLI, a rehabilitation center in Omaha, Nebraska. Ahern extended an existing dry system to accommodate the new physical therapy addition that was added to this 17,071 square foot facility. Ahern resolved any concerns the customer had by making sure their drawings were clear and specific.
15808 W. Dodge
For this job, Ahern was able to provide a new sprinkler system to a new building with four floors, each with floor control valves. The 44,138 square foot office building is located in Omaha, Nebraska. Ahern's knowledge and experience allowed them to be cost effective and successfully complete this job with no OSHA recordable events or injuries.
On this job, Ahern was to demo a wet pipe system and install a pre-action system at Yahoo. The 3,900 square foot data center is located in LaVista, NE. This was Omaha's first project with Yahoo and general contractor DPR Frotis. With the designs being approved on the first submission, Ahern was able to keep on schedule and complete the project on time with no OSHA recordable events.
The Paw Spa
Ahern’s fire protection designs were approved by regulatory authorities on the first submission for this new 12,000 square-foot pet daycare and spa in Omaha, Nebraska. Our team was the first subcontractor on site after rough-in, allowing us to get in and out quickly and the store to open as scheduled. Despite a tenant-requested change order, all work was completed within 1.3% of the original estimate.
As the kids were enjoying their summer vacations, Ahern's fire protection team performed a sprinkler retrofit on Montclair Elementary School in Omaha, NE. Work in the 65,000 square foot school stretched over 2 summers. Despite having some unforeseen hanger attachment issues, Ahern stuck true to its core ideology of being committed to excellence and was able to make adjustments and still meet the deadline while remaining within their budget.
UNO Community Arena
Ahern completed its work right on schedule with zero issues at the 185,104 square foot Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. The project was completed by a team who averaged 10 years of experience. Ahern prefabricated and installed a new fire sprinkler system using 2,607 sprinkler heads. Ahern’s knowledge of fire protection allowed this project to be cost effective and completed with no injuries or OSHA recordable events.
Century Link Remodel
Ahern added another fire protection installation to its resume. Century Link in Omaha, Nebraska was going through a remodel and Ahern's job was to add/relocate fire sprinkler heads to accommodate new ceiling in the remodeled areas. Ahern was able to work through the logistical challenge of getting material to the upper floor of an occupied office building to complete this project safely and 100% within the original estimate.
Ahern met its client’s deadline and effectively coordinated its work to prevent disruption to Major Plastics’ nearly 24-hour operating cycle. The owners of this 80,000 square-foot warehouse and plastic injection molding facility in Omaha, Nebraska turned to Ahern to upgrade its fire protection from a dry-pipe system to a wet-pipe ESFR [early suppression fast response] system. Working around the building occupants and existing equipment required daily coordination between our crews and the client’s management team.
Harvey Oaks Elementary
While the kids were at play, Ahern spent summer break at Harvey Oaks Elementary in Omaha, NE, installing a sprinkler system in the 38,598 square-foot educational facility. The experience of Ahern’s field crew benefitted the retrofit project substantially due to the knowledge of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pipe used in the installation, as well as the sprinkler layout. This experience was also important in resolving the number of wire lines coming in contact with the system.
New Cassel Retirement Center
Ahern finished its work on time and within budget when working on the New Cassel Retirement Center. This 21,750 square foot retirement home is located in Omaha, NE. Ahern's job was to replace existing branch piping and dry pendant sprinkler heads in the existing attic. In addition, the field crew who averaged 12 years of industry experience needed to re-work existing piping that was not installed properly by another contractor.
