How Ahern Installed & Retrofitted Fire Sprinkler Systems to Meet Special Installation Requests & Unique Challenges in Davenport’s Iconic Wells Fargo Building & Figge Art Museum

The fire protection experts of Ahern rose to the challenge of retrofitting Davenport’s historic Wells Fargo Building, present due to lead paint and the Historical Society’s desire for minimal alteration of the building’s original features.  Ahern’s foreman received a Lead Paint Certification specifically for this project, and was able to address all concerns while performing the installation, and all the sprinkler heads & fabricated pipe were designed to match concealed plates that matched the building’s ceilings, meeting the Historical Society’s request.

When Davenport's Figge Art Museum needed a sprinkler system installed, they chose the fire protection experts at Ahern to tackle their unique fire protection needs and the challenges that came with it.  The museum was designed by a London architecture firm, who requested the sprinklers be concealed as much as possible.  To tackle this specific challenge, Ahern held weekly progress meetings with the firm, often on odd schedules due to a seven-hour time difference.  Despite these challenges and an aggressive deadline, Ahern completed the project one month ahead of schedule, with all fire protection designs approved on the first submission.
