Gil
Service Superintendent
As the Service Superintendent overseeing the Omaha, Quad Cities and Des Moines regions, Gil plays a pivotal role in the management of fire systems technicians responsible for the installation and maintenance of fire alarms and specialized hazard systems (which is a form of fire suppression that doesn't rely on water). Gil's journey with Ahern began in 2018 as a fire systems technician, and he quickly moved through the ranks to lead technician and now superintendent. He thrives on variety – and there’s no shortage of it in his day-to-day work. One moment, he could be handling the intricacies of job scheduling; the next, he's at a job site helping install a complex project. That variety and the people he works with are just two reasons he’s grown his career at Ahern.
“Ahern just has amazing people. Everyone here has a good head on their shoulders,” Gil said. “We learn from our mistakes, become better each day and make a difference for our customers.”
Gil has a strong passion for his work. He’s motivated by the knowledge that the systems his teams install and maintain protect both people and property. Before joining Ahern, Gil worked for a smaller fire alarm company in the area. When he heard Ahern specializes in fire protection and learned more about the culture from a current employee, he was all in and decided to switch to the Ahern team.
As a leader at Ahern, cultivating a close-knit team with passionate people has been one of his favorite accomplishments. He credits his teams’ success to their hard work and the training and resources Ahern provides.
