For those looking to progress and develop in their role, look no further than Ahern, according to Purchasing-Supply Chain Buyer Amanda. Amanda’s career began at Ahern as a Supply Chain Intern at the end of her college career. She joined the team full-time as a Planner and was shortly promoted to Buyer. She is responsible for negotiating prices with suppliers and placing large orders to ensure that Ahern’s field crews have materials on hand.
Her favorite aspect of the job is building relationships with project managers and suppliers. She finds that establishing strong connections is essential for streamlining her work and making an impact. After all, without Amanda, our teams wouldn’t have the materials needed to install lifesaving systems.
Whether she’s attending mentoring meetings or trainings to sharpen her skills, Amanda has seen Ahern’s commitment to employee development firsthand. “Ahern really gives you the ability to develop in your role and explore different career opportunities,” Amanda said. “It’s been a great experience growing my career here.”
