Fire Protection Designer
As a student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Sayed didn’t know fire protection design existed until he came to work for Ahern as a Design Intern in 2019. Looking back, he’s thrilled he took that chance. After gaining exposure to the creativity and complexity involved in specialty design, Sayed returned to Ahern for a second internship in 2020, where he learned to code, use design software and take on more responsibility for various projects.
Sayed was hired full-time as a Fire Protection Designer in December of 2021 with Ahern’s Twin Cities team. From small retrofit projects to large design-build undertakings, Sayed has learned from every experience.
“It’s hard to imagine working for another company besides Ahern,” says Sayed. “Ahern really cares about retaining and nurturing talent. I have had many opportunities to explore multiple facets of the company to constantly improve my skills.”
With a supportive environment and a seasoned team of designers and engineers, Sayed looks forward to continuing to design his career with Ahern one project at a time.
