Ahern Earns ASME Nuclear Fabrication Certificates

Monday, October 14, 2013

Ahern recently earned ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) accreditation for three fabrication processes related to the nuclear industry. ASME certification assures customers that their piping projects will be completed according to strict industry standards. Ahern now holds five ASME certificates for various fabrication methods.

Ahern earned these nuclear certifications –NPT, NS, and NA – after completing a rigorous vetting process that included extensive documentation as well as on-site audits with ASME representatives. “These certifications enable us to pursue new work in the nuclear market as well as serve existing customers who are involved in this industry,” said Tony Ahern, executive vice president of fabrication and operations. “With customers in 47 states and seven international countries, we are continually looking to expand our capabilities and maintain our reputation as an industry leader.”

Tony Ahern points out that the nuclear accreditation is a result of the company’s overall commitment to quality assurance. “Our team has developed a stringent quality assurance process that covers every aspect of the fabrication process, from estimating through project delivery,” he said. “Adherence to these processes has resulted in a 99% quality rating and a 96% on-time delivery rate.”
