Ahern Receives Two BUILD Wisconsin Awards

Ahern is honored to be a winner of two BUILD Wisconsin Awards from the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin (AGC). The company won in the specialty contractor category for work performed on the Mills Fleet Farm Distribution Center located in Chippewa Falls, WI as well as the Pabst Milwaukee Brewery in Milwaukee, WI.

With its construction, the Mills Fleet Farm Distribution Center has provided Chippewa Falls with 325 new jobs. The 1,125,000 square foot facility was Wisconsin’s ninth largest economic development project in 2017. Ahern self-performed all of the pre-construction design and engineering, produced and procured state approved documents, and completed the plumbing installation for this project. “…Due to the hard work of Caleb, Jake, and the rest of the crew, they lived up to the high bar that Ahern has previously set. They were a very integral part of a team that delivered a 1.2 million SF distribution center in 8 months,” says Brock Norman, Project Manager for Ryan Companies US, Inc.

Ahern helped convert a church that was built almost 150 years ago and that sat vacant for the last 25 years into a micro-brewery and event hall, providing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection services. The project team was able to maintain the historic integrity of the building while adding modern conveniences and life safety systems. The Pabst Milwaukee Brewery project received an award from the City of Milwaukee in 2017 for a Historic Renovation.
