Brookside Church
Designexperts
The Brookside Church building fire alarm upgrade project provided updated, cohesive protection of the building’s 89,800 square feet. For the project, Ahern’s team designed an addressable fire alarm system installed throughout the spaces in the original portion of the facility built in 1989 as well as the additional spaces added in 2000. There were a variety of areas in need of fire alarm coverage, including worship spaces, classrooms, offices, kitchen space, a care center, storage and mechanical rooms, and a multi-purpose space. Taking into account the functions of the protected areas, Ahern designed the system to incorporate various detection products such as photodetectors, standard smoke detectors, temperature detectors, strobe devices, pull stations, and even decorative wire molding in certain areas for a more aesthetically pleasing look. Though the project location was in a more remote area from the Ahern offices, the team efficiently coordinated regular client meetings, labor and material deliveries. Additionally, Ahern was able to rely on exceptional vendor relationships for any replacement or additional materials needed. Through careful planning and communication, the team was able to successfully and safely complete the project.
