Ahern’s wastewater plant expertise was critical to maintaining operation of the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District’s plant during its RAS/WAS (return activated sludge/waste activated sludge) upgrade. Ahern’s 12-member field team averaged 16 years of experience, and all held industry certifications; its office team averaged 18 years experience. Serving as the prime contractor on the job, Ahern’s knowledge aided in effective project planning and sequencing. Nearly 4,000 linear feet of piping was replaced, along with pumps, clarifiers, mixers, and more. Ahern concluded its work three months ahead of the deadline.
