J&L Fiber Services Ventilation
On-time &within budget
Energy-Efficient HVAC & Commissioning Services for Factories in the Milwaukee Area
Ahern’s work on the J&L facility, located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, involved reducing the concentration of DMEA gas (potentially harmful gas emitted from molds during a curing process) in operator breathing zones. The customer needed a flexible duct for exhaust drops but it had to withstand the pressure and velocity of the air flow. By using their creativity and resources, Ahern was able to search and acquire samples of material that would work with the exhaust’s conditions and make modifications to keep it from falling out of place. The foundry remained occupied and running their processes as usual during the completion of the work, which required significant communication and coordination to ensure jobsite safety and efficiency. Ahern met the customer’s deadline which allowed for the industrial hygienist to perform their scheduled air sampling on time. The final results yielded in improved air quality in respect to DMEA concentrations.
