Ahern has completed multiple projects at Luminex, a biological testing technology facility in Madison, Wisconsin. The main project involved HVAC, fire protection, and special hazards installations, including multiple rooftop HVAC units, two laboratory exhaust fans, and a special hazards FM200 system. Success on that job led to additional opportunities, including the installation of a liquid desiccant unit to pull the moisture out of Luminex’s product room and achieve 20-25% relative humidity. Luminex also purchased a piece of specialized pharmaceutical equipment called a freeze vacuum, and Ahern installed a 15-ton air-cooled chiller and chiller plant to connect to the freeze vacuum equipment.
