Ahern was able to showcase its multi-trade capabilities for the Parmenter Center in Middleton, Wisconsin.  From design, prefabrication, and construction, the 39,758 square-foot commercial office space facility features design/build work from Ahern in:

HVAC

• Two 50 ton packaged roof top units
• One energy recovery unit
• Three exhaust fans
• Natural gas piping
• Low and Medium pressure ductwork – 12,000 pounds total
• Distech temperature controls
• Fire Protection
  • One wet pipe sprinkler system
  • 300 sprinkler heads

Plumbing

• Three prefabricated, back-to-back bathroom groups
• Six exterior hose bibs
• One electric water softener
• Domestic hot and cold water risers

Ahern used 3D coordination to successfully design all three trades to meet the 10 foot ceiling requests of the owner, and the field crew worked together to solve and unforeseen conditions to minimize the impacts on other trades on site. With weekly interval planning between the office and field staff, Ahern was able to complete the project six weeks ahead of schedule.
