Tyson Foods, an Ahern customer for over 15 years, reached out to Ahern to upgrade their existing fire alarm system at their New London, WI location. This would be the first fire alarm project at Tyson Foods, but there was no question that Ahern could complete the job.

The goal of the system upgrade was to provide a campus-wide notification method to notify employees of fire alarm events, chemical spills, and weather-related events. This project started at the beginning of the COVID shutdowns. The shutdown caused the project to be delayed by one month and caused challenges due to the reduced manpower allowed on site. The electrical contractor had to work with the customer to gain access to production areas which was last-minute access on the weekend. Despite these challenges, the electrical contractor and customer worked well with Ahern to successfully complete the project.
