Fire Protection & Commercial HVAC Services for Medical Facilities in the Madison Area

Ahern’s design/build background was the grounds for this fire protection and HVAC project in Madison, WI. The 80,000 square-foot, 4-story medical facility exceeded the owner’s schedule with the use of Ahern’s prefabrication process. Ahern prefabricated 950 sheet metal spools on 68,000 pounds of ductwork, plus 730 sprinkler heads. The field crew installed the ductwork before the stud walls were placed, which reduced the amount of material handling on the job site. The project was constructed in pursuit of LEED Silver Certification and achieved the award with energy-efficient equipment selection and static regain. With proper planning and prefabrication, this new construction project was completed on-time.
